First State Ballet Theatre, a professional dance company and school in its 25th year, seeks an enthusiastic and hard-working person to join the team as Managing Director. The ideal candidate will have a passion for arts administration and possess the ability to work well with a small team and individually. This person will have the drive to navigate the organization through a time of opportunity and growth.
The Managing Director reports to the Executive Director and oversees the planning, implementation, and operations to uphold the mission of the company.

Areas of Responsibility Team ManagementWork as liaison for Executive Director with administrative staff and Board of DirectorsWork in conjunction with Company Directors to develop dance projects which fulfill FSBT's mission and are financially feasibleWork with Marketing Director implementing marketing plans for FSBT programsWork closely with Board of Directors on all fundraising activities including special events, annual appeals, and project initiativesAttend all meetings of the Board; prepare reports (including, but not limited to: financial report, staff/administrative report, and other ad hoc reports as required)Fundraising and DevelopmentMaintain and cultivate relationships with FSBT's current funders and grantorsMaintain accurate and complete records of contributions, grants and other supportEnsure that all contributions and other support are acknowledged as may be required by law and as is otherwise appropriateMonitor grant cycles and prepare and submit appropriate grant applications and reports to foundations, corporations, and government agenciesIdentify new grants, funding and networking opportunities that are aligned with FSBT's mission and goalsSet annual fundraising goals and implement fundraising systemsMaintain a visible presence in the arts/dance community by being a spokesperson for FSBTKeep abreast of activities and developments in the arts/dance communityDirect program managers in developing budgets and oversee adherence to developed budgetsMaintain fiscal operations in compliance with non-profit, federal, state and local regulations and funding guidelines, and FSBT Fiscal Policies ManualWork with Board Treasurer to develop budget reports necessary for financial oversightMaintain adequate insurance and manage relationship with insurance brokerOther duties as assignedCompensation and Benefits This is a full-time position. Salary range $50,000-60,000 commensurate with experience. Benefits negotiable.
Skills and Qualifications Nonprofit management experience and training.Ability to plan and act strategically with demonstrated supervisory skills.Experience in Google Calendar, Google Drive (Docs and Forms), Dropbox, and other web applications.Proficient knowledge in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Publisher) and computer systems.Familiar with Donor Management Systems and Accounting Software such as Quickbooks Online.Knowledge of and experience in nonprofit management.
