As Manager of Trade Relations, you will be responsible for analyzing Abarca's data to formulate strategies around how to engage with pharmaceutical manufacturers. This includes day-to-day ownership of Abarca's relationships with pharmaceutical manufacturers as well as be responsible for negotiating rebate opportunities that provide savings to Abarca's clients. We will need you to maintain ownership for rebate modeling, and evaluate rebate offers and identify savings opportunities for clients. This position will provide insights around rebate contracts in support of financial analyses, sales initiatives, strategic client meetings, and others. Our Manager of Trade Relations will also participate as a key part of an innovative strategic group that will create our drug value strategies. All of this will allow you to provide support and autonomy for engineering drug trend solutions that will ultimately help grow a new and pivotal strategic area of Abarca.
The fundamentals for the job…
Analyze Abarca client data to inform rebate negotiation strategy and to identify client savings opportunities.Deliver, with assistance from trade analyst, financial analyses of manufacturer rebate proposals and operations including sensitivity analyses, competitive offer assessments, performance tracking and scenario building.Complete cost modeling and analysis to determine optimal coverage strategies and to support rebate negotiationManage industry relations analyst(s) and guide their completion of rebate modelingServe as day-to-day relationship owner and contact person for pharmaceutical manufacturersNegotiate and implement rebate agreementsTriage any pharmaceutical manufacturer inquiries and ensure we provide responses in a timely mannerWork with legal to revise and execute pharmaceutical manufacturer contractsServe as rebate contract SME within Abarca, and provide support during regulatory change management process around regulatory changes impacting rebatesLead the completion of annual rebate RFP and client formulary reviews, which includes financial analysis, opportunity identification, net cost modeling, and responding to inquiriesResearch, compile, and analyze rebate and trending data for internal stakeholders including finance, client account teams, and underwritingManage and collaborate on high prioritie needs as necessary.What we expect of you... Bachelor's degree in Business or related area of study, or equivalent combination of education and/or related work experience8 years of work experience in a strategic, analytical, or consulting role in healthcare; preferably in health plan or PBM settingStrong analytical skillsExperience managing challenging conversations and presenting to senior audiences (such as executive level staff).Experience with applying project management to operational areas in pharmacy benefit management. (i.e. project timelines, KPI's/metric tracking, visualization of results)Experience ideating, developing, driving and taking ownerhsip of strategic initiativesExperience with data visualization tools such as but not limited to Excel, PowerBI, or other similar tools.Excellent oral and written communication skills.We are proud to offer a flexible hybrid work model which will require certain on-site work-days (Puerto Rico Location Only)This position requires availability to work in a specified time zone or working schedule, accommodating the business needs of our clients and team members.This position may require availability for on-call hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to promptly address emergent issues or provide necessary support as dictated by operational demands (if applicable).Nice to have…
