About the team Dialpad's Ai Engineering team works centrally alongside Data Science, Telephony, and Product Engineering teams to build Ai That Works. Engineers on this team leverage a broad skill set ranging from Distributed Systems Engineering, DevOps, MLOps and Data Engineering to deliver and scale Dialpad's Ai products.
Your Role In this high impact role as an Engineering Manager, you will lead, grow, and nurture the software engineering team that owns real-time transcription inference, ML inference, and LLM scalability by collaborating with other leaders at Dialpad. You will help to direct the teams' efforts including career coaching, resource allocation, planning, and technical contributions. This position reports to our Chief Ai Officer adjacent to peer Engineering Managers on the Ai Engineering team. This position has the opportunity to be based in the Buenos Aires, Argentina Office with the ability to work remotely in the local area.
What you'll do  You'll have direct reports ranging from junior-level to highly experienced engineers, and will support their performance and career growth through regular one-on-ones, performance reviews, coaching, and mentoring.
Consistently work with your direct reports to support their career growthParticipate in evaluating architecture choices on an ongoing basis, in anticipation of increased scale and ever-evolving technology to meet the demands of a rapidly growing business needsWork with geographically distributed peer engineering managers, as well as technical leads, to align engineering-wide prioritiesOwn large projects end-to-end including requirements gathering, planning, resource allocation, and sometimes executionDefine, prioritize, and facilitate technical design execute infrastructure development discussions and map functional requirements, roadmaps to technical designs and project schedules and team roadmapsBuild new tools and services to help make feature development at Dialpad as easy as possible.Drive effective engineering processes and policiesScale the team by recruiting candidates from diverse backgroundsSkills you'll bring 2+ years experience leading a high-performing team of engineers, including managing and shipping cross-functional or multi-team projects5+ years of technical engineering experience building distributed systems, or related fieldExperience in Python, GitHub/VCS, CI/CD, Kubernetes, Docker, DevOps, GCP/CloudExperience partnering closely with Data Science teams Culture
