As a turner/milling machine operator, you will operate conventional machine tools to manufacture and modify precision parts in the oil and gas sector. This includes all types of mechanical seal parts, centrifugal pumps, and certain valve components. You may also manufacture and modify parts to repair machine tools, workshop needs, or perform maintenance on industrial machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, mathematics, metal properties, design, and machining procedures.
Your role: Machine or equipment operation: operate conventional equipment and machines. Perform routine tasks. Operations management: perform operational tasks following established processes. Equipment maintenance and repair: assist in maintaining and repairing equipment by making preparations and providing assistance. Health, safety, and environment: follow basic mandatory work instructions to safeguard the environment and the well-being of yourself and others. Operational compliance: follow a simple mandatory procedure to ensure that work is carried out according to required quality standards and/or to ensure compliance with external regulatory codes and internal codes of conduct. Using Precision Equipment: Interpret and use precision measuring equipment/instruments such as micrometers, comparators, depth gauges, and other instruments to ensure proper manufacturing and verification of work. Instructions and Drawings: Ability to read and interpret blueprints and geometric tolerances. Ability to sketch parts for future manufacturing or modifications. Internal Communications: Exchange information with people through interactions with other departments in a fluid and correct manner. Policies and Procedures: Work with management to understand policies and procedures, ensuring they match organizational strategies and goals. Other duties as assigned. Your Profile: Verbal Communication: Use clear and effective verbal communication skills to express ideas and request actions. Planning and Organizing: Work with management to plan, organize, and prioritize activities to efficiently meet business objectives. Health and Safety: Apply basic concepts to manage and implement safe work systems. Equipment Experience: 2+ years of machining experience in a manufacturing or repair environment operating manual lathes, milling machines, and other types of machine tools such as drill presses or mortisers.
