The Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ) is seeking a Laboratory Technician to work in Prof. Ruben Martín's research group.

Tasks and Responsibilities: The candidate will take care of the analytical equipment in the laboratory, assist in maintaining a high level of work quality, ensure safety, quality and efficiency of the crew, and negotiate costs with suppliers and clients. Requirements: The candidates must have a PhD in chemistry. We are looking for a candidate with solid and proven expertise as a technician, laboratory maintenance, expertise in repairing conventional laboratory equipment (HPLC, GC, Glovebox, photoreactors), and who has supported a large research group in the field of chemistry. The candidates must submit the following documents: (a) a CV (specifying any relevant experience along with a detailed description of previous accomplishments); (b) a cover letter highlighting interest in the position, reasons for applying to our group, particular strengths & weaknesses, future career plans, hobbies, self-motivation, and ability to work in a team; (c) names and contact addresses of two referees that might be willing to write a recommendation letter. Valued Qualities: Candidates must have a proven record in providing support as a technician to a large research group in the field of chemistry, and experience in maintaining and repairing conventional equipment in a chemically-oriented research group such as HPLC, GC, Glovebox, and photoreactors. Capable of working in a team and decision making. He/she should be a motivated, open-minded, dynamic individual capable of working in an international team with different nationalities and cultures. Strong commitment to scientific research in a competitive environment. We Offer: A permanent full-time employment contract. Remuneration according to individual qualifications/experience. Annual salary split into twelve monthly payments. Incorporation: December 2024. Structural position resulting from the ordinary reposition quota for 2024.
