Monks is looking for a developer to put incredible websites and web apps together on the backend of digital production.
You will be a key member of the Backend Development team, designing, coding, testing, documenting, installing, maintaining and supporting applications that enable businesses to operate more effectively and competitively.
About the role
- Based on your knowledge in Java, you will play a key role in the development of platforms and solutions.
- Working effectively as a team member within an agile development environment.
- Communicating effectively with other team members, leaders, and company management, both orally and in written form;
- Writing program code that fulfills the agreed-upon requirements, and is 1) robust,
2) testable, 3) easily maintainable, and 4) effectively commented
- Producing user-interface designs / implementations that embody the best industry-accepted standards
- Anticipating problems with proposed designs and solutions
- Consistently meet project deadlines
- Work within an environment of constant improvement
- Project professionalism, enthusiasm, an a can do attitude
- Meet or exceed established performance goals
Requirements
- Years of Java 8 / 11 is a must.
- You're fluent in English and feel very confident speaking and writing it!
- You have experience in application design and analysis; patterns and object-oriented programming
- Experience in Java older versions is valuable
- Experience in other languages like NodeJS is valuable
- Experience migrating from older Java versions to newer versions is valuable
- Experience in Web Services, REST API, integrating third-party APIs; OAuth, social networks and other integrations
- Experience in modern technologies including : clouding like AWS (EC2), GCP and / or Azure; container / virtualization like Docker / Vagrant
- Experience developing with supporting tools such as Git and / or BitBucket; CI / CD : Jenkins, Maven, Gradle is valuable
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Experience in a consulting environment with a demonstrated track record of continuing responsibilities, creativity and innovation
