The opportunity Engage with plant personnel in the development and support of the company's short and long- term business processes and strategies in the supply chain, operations, inventory management and quality functional areas. This individual will be accountable for providing administration and technical support for plant, regional and global information technology initiatives supporting manufacturing, including quality and laboratories, and engineering. The individual will conduct analysis of functional business process and functional requirements, and deliver structured documentation and presentation of findings to all levels of management. The individual will support site and cluster business and IT leadership, and provide the necessary support to global and regional initiatives deployed at the site. The individual will be an IT representative for interacting with local staff and leadership and regional IT resources to support the above mentioned business areas.
How you'll spend your day Serve as an IT liaison and business process expert in the areas of supply chain, operations, inventory management, lab systems and quality. Analyzing business needs, validating solutions with the client, and working with local and regional IT to support critical aspects of the businessMaintain focus on process analysis and re-engineering with an understanding of technical problems and solutions and the relationship to the business and technical environmentCollaborate with customers, staff, regional IT colleagues, and other stakeholders to support existing processes and technologies in the supply chain, operations and quality areas. Identify customer requirements; assess impacts to the delivery and development of applications. This may involve lab systems, engineering systems, or both.Administer and support all laboratory computer systems – LIMS/Labware, CDS/Empower, standalone-computerized instruments and other applications identified by laboratory management. Support interfaces to these systems and troubleshoot as requiredPlan and execute validation of computerized systems. Create and update IT SOPs and work instructionsDevelop and support appropriate administration and master data maintenance processes and proceduresDevelop, maintain and deliver appropriate training modules for laboratory systems. Act as a key site expert of laboratory processes to provide appropriate knowledge to laboratory system implementationsSupport the implementation and ongoing use of MES and OEE systems as required. Knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP is required to understand the key interfaces for MES and Batches/Dispensing systemsCollaborate with site and global Engineering to adopt standard systems where possible and with global IT to support standards for network, remote access and securitySupport local engineering systems interfaces as requiredSupport local delivery of IT services and coordinates with local resources, regional IT support to complete projects and support efforts at the facilityYour experience and qualifications BS in Computer Science/Engineering/Pharmaceutical-related Science or related discipline or equivalent work experience required4+ years of experience in pharmaceutical or related manufacturing industry and Supply Chain, Operations, Quality, Enterprise Asset Management, and Costing functions is a plusKnowledge of Manufacturing, QC and/or R&D laboratory practices in a pharmaceutical environment that includes PC based/Standalone Laboratory and Manufacturing SystemsStrong hands-on technical skills, operational background and working experience with infrastructure technologies and computerized laboratory analytical systemsExperienced in providing technical solutions aligned with standards, security, validation, capacity, high availability and identifying associated risksERP Business, Manufacturing and QA/QC IT Systems a plus, Industry related knowledge in a pharmaceuticalReports To Director IT Business Application
