Job Description:Project Management plans, controls and executes a project or set of related projects to meet identified business needs and deliver business value, through acquiring and utilizing the necessary resources and skills, within agreed parameters of cost, timescales and quality. This position will lead small-to-medium projects of moderate complexity and risk and has the following accountabilities:
Plan, execute, monitor, control, and close all aspects of the project lifecycle.Rigorously manage scope through a structured change management process to ensure commitments are achieved within agreed time, cost, and quality parameters with focus on delivering the business benefits. Create and validate financial forecasts and provide ongoing reconciliation of resources and expenditures. Ensure appropriate stakeholder change and communication plans and engagements are developed and executed. Proactively analyze variances against plan to assess trends threatening agreed scope, time, cost, and quality commitments. Identify signs that a project may be at risk and escalate quickly and appropriately. Apply Shell project management and IT control/assurance methodologies, standards and processes including architecture, information risk management, and transition to support.
The IT Project Manager is responsible for:The primary responsibility of the IT PM will be to manage scope of Telecom & Collaboration, Hosting & Storage, Capital and office change projects; across all stages of the project life-cycle. Using the Project Delivery Framework, the project manager will be expected to deliver projects on time, within the approved budget, and within the agreed upon scope, ensuring solutions meet business- and non-functional requirements and are compliant with HSSE, Architecture, IRM and Supportability standards.Translate business requirements into formal IT projects/requirements and work with all delivery organizations (both internal and external), deliver total landscape project portfolio.Take accountability to plan, control and execute approved Landscape Projects within agreed parameters of cost and timescales.Ensure all activities conducted within the projects/programmes respond to the business imperatives (accommodating technology, schedule, resource, risk, cost and other constraints) and are effectively co-ordinated/aligned with Standard Project Delivery Framework.Manage budget (both direct and indirect), governance approvals, co-ordination of suppliers and monitoring of all projects.Provide appropriate stakeholder engagements on all Projects and work with UI SOM Functional leads (especially the Telecoms OLM) in ensuring that solutions which are deployed are in line with the approved architecture.For Office change projects, maintain an integrated design view with the other trade teams for office projects (asset protection, furniture design/selection, construction design, electrical/low voltage design, mechanical design, etc).Requirements:Special Challenges:Quickly earn the trust of sponsors and key stakeholders. Resolve conflict and deliver tough messages with grace. Continually update relevant business stakeholders of project status.Execute and drive decisions despite limited information.Motivate a team while removing barriers so that the team can complete its objectives while managing pressure.Work virtually in a diverse global organization and with major outsourced suppliers of infrastructure and application services.Tailor stakeholder communications material and level of detail to the audience.Qualifications:A 4-year degree in IT or a related field.Professional certifications related to project or programme management are desirable.Familiar with and able to adhere to project management methodologies and tools.Strong communication and presentation skills.Fluency in English.Given the very high-risk activities engaged within the projects (e.g. work at height and work offshore and/or in hazardous areas), in-depth knowledge of the HSSE management system and an excellent HSSE safety track record is required.
Knowledgeable in Telecommunications systems - Microwave radio, 2-way communications radio, VSAT technologies, LAN/WAN and Cisco Networking, deployment of telecommunications systems at Oil & Gas Production facilities and Telecoms Safety critical equipment specifications, CCTV, Troposcatter.
Knowledgeable in Audio Video / Collaboration technologies.
Knowledgeable in Hosting and Storage infrastructure and cloud infrastructure solutions.
Experience with project management in the above areas is a key requirement to be successful for the role.
