Position Summary We are seeking a midlevel to senior associate with expertise in patent prosecution, specifically within the biotechnology and life sciences sector.
Ideal candidates will have 1-7 years of experience in patent law, coupled with an advanced degree (preferably a Ph.D.) in a life sciences technology field.
A USPTO Registration Number is required.

Responsibilities Manage and conduct patent prosecution for biotechnology and life sciences clients, ensuring alignment with industry-specific regulations.
Draft, review, and file patent applications in the U.S. and international jurisdictions.
Collaborate with clients to develop intellectual property strategies that protect their innovations and business interests.
Provide legal advice on intellectual property matters, including patentability assessments, freedom-to-operate opinions, and portfolio management.
Participate in due diligence efforts related to mergers, acquisitions, and other transactions.
Work closely with interdisciplinary teams of scientists, inventors, and business leaders to understand and safeguard their innovations.
Qualifications and Experience 1-7 years of experience in patent prosecution, specifically in biotechnology or life sciences.
Advanced degree in a life sciences technology area (Ph.D. preferred).
Active membership of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) Patent Bar.
Strong understanding of patent laws, particularly as they pertain to biotechnology innovations.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex scientific concepts effectively to legal and business stakeholders.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Prior experience advising clients on intellectual property strategy is highly desirable.
