The PositionThe Healthcare Policy Lead is a pivotal role designed to navigate and shape the healthcare ecosystem in LATAM. As an individual contributor and expert, the Healthcare Policy Lead will be part of the Healthcare Development & Quality Chapter.
This role will improve the chapter's overarching expertise based on current and upcoming needs to deliver on networks, chapters and countries priorities. The prioritized policy opportunities will enable rapid, broad and sustainable access to Roche's innovative diagnostics solution portfolio in the future.
This role demands a strategic thinker who can foster collaboration across different functions and countries to drive health system innovation, long term access, care models and patient outcomes improvement.
In this position, you will be the key point of contact for Roche Diagnostics' capabilities in Public Policy.
The Opportunity: Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with key external and internal stakeholders to facilitate knowledge exchange and influence health system policies and practices.Serve as the primary point of contact for, and represent Roche in front of external ecosystem stakeholders, including policymakers, governments, payers, trade associations, NGOs, patient associations and influencers to advocate for health system innovation.Develop and implement policy strategies to enhance healthcare systems' capacity and capabilities, resilience, development and innovation, ensuring alignment with Roche Diagnostics' objectives and LATAM Delivery Agenda.Leverage deep knowledge of local and regional policy landscapes to adapt and implement effective policy briefings and engagement plans.Monitor changes in healthcare policies and government activities, identifying opportunities and challenges for Roche Diagnostics.Identify policy gaps, maintain existing policies, update policies and facilitate the holistic policy lifecycle from development through implementation, including developing relevant supporting documents and tools for policy operationalization.Participate and actively engage in industry coalitions and industry groups to understand the development of policies and regulations.Build and establish meaningful healthcare partnering relationships with both public and private strategic stakeholders who are responsible and involved in the patient value chain at national and regional level.Liaise with EMEA-LATAM region, Global, and Community of Interests/Practices on public policy and government affairs projects to ensure learning on shared best practices and efficient adoption of relevant initiatives.Establish strategies for addressing business critical topics and work with representatives of other functions to deliver multi-stakeholder engagement plan.Enable an environment that fosters development of best practices and thought leadership for all aspects pertaining to Roche's healthcare policy agenda and health system engagement and across regional and affiliate partners; exemplify the principle of proactive and continuous improvement and customer centricity.Who you are: Advanced degree in Public Policy, health system policy or related policy area required; Health Economics, Business, Life Sciences, Public Health or a related field preferred.10+ years of experience in healthcare policy, government affairs, or related fields, preferably within the diagnostics, pharmaceutical, or healthcare industry.Fluency in English & Spanish is mandatory; Portuguese proficiency is advantageous.Demonstrated creativity and innovation in strategy and execution and flexible to find the right balance in working strategically and operationally; agile and hands-on mentality; enjoys a fast-paced, often unpredictable environment.Ability to work in a geographical and culturally diverse environment.Strong ability to work cross-functionally and collaboratively within a diverse and transforming regional context.In-depth understanding of the healthcare policy environment and stakeholder dynamics in LATAM.Proven expertise in government affairs, policy analysis, and stakeholder engagement, with the ability to navigate complex healthcare ecosystems.Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills, with the capacity to build and nurture long-term strategic relationships and ability to translate complexities.Agile and innovative mindset, capable of identifying and overcoming barriers to healthcare innovation and access.You are also responsible for building, and then providing effective matrix-leadership for a regional team in a manner that is consistent with the Roche Values and leadership capabilities.
