AWS is seeking a Senior Manager to lead the LATAM Startup Business Development team. In this role you will be responsible for leading a team of former startup founders/operators/investors who champion and work alongside LATAM's best tech startups, Venture Capital Firms, Accelerators and Incubators. You will work closely with the startup ecosystem as well as internal teams to define the strategy that ensures that LATAM's startup founders are choosing to build and scale their startups on AWS.
In this role, you will create and implement long-term strategies working backwards from startup customer needs, earning their trust and helping to accelerate and expand our startup business in LATAM. You will work closely with other senior internal stakeholders across sales, solutions architects, marketing, product, partners, and support teams to build programs, mechanisms and go-to-market approaches that ensure startups choose AWS as their cloud platform and business partner. You will also be part of a global team of Startup Business Development leaders that work together to create strategies and programs globally.

Basic qualifications
- Extensive experience with startups and/or the startup ecosystem(s)
- Business acumen required to identify and support startups with strong potential to succeed and scale
- Significant technology-related business development and/or sales experience
- Demonstrated creative problem-solving skills.
- Prior experience building and leading diverse teams as well as delivering results through influencing related teams and functions
- Experience working across different LATAM markets
- Proven track record driving customer acquisition
- Demonstrated history of meeting and exceeding performance goals
- Experience as a public speaker
- Strong verbal and written communications skills.
- Strong leadership skills, with significant experience as a manager of managers
- BA/BS degree
- English (written and spoken)
Preferred qualifications
- Senior operating experience within a tech startup
- Experience founding and/or scaling and managing a tech startup is highly preferential
- Extensive customer and startup ecosystem networks
- A technical background in engineering, computer science, or MIS is a plus.
- MBA degree in relevant field
- Fluent in Spanish and Portuguese.
Key job responsibilities
- Define and execute strategies to drive adoption of AWS services in startup customers.
- Lead a high performing, diverse team across Brazil, Mexico, Chile, Argentina, and Colombia.
- Collaborate and partner with other functions (sales, marketing, solutions architects) to execute plans and programs.
- Be the key spokesperson to share AWS value proposition in the LATAM startup ecosystem as a presenter at events, meetings and with interviews with the press.
- Build and maintain relationships with the top founders, investors, accelerators, and incubators in LATAM.
- Represent LATAM in global startup business development forums, sharing and capturing best practices from other GEO's.
About the team
The Startup Business Development team is responsible for managing the relationships with LATAM's top Venture Capital Firms, Accelerators, and Incubators. They also oversee at scale motions to drive adoption of AWS services with the long tail of customers in LATAM.
