We're currently looking for a Head of Art who will work with design team members and senior marketing executives to develop and implement graphic standards of excellence. Our ideal candidate will help manage teams of dynamic, creative graphic design professionals and make decisions based on the strategy's effectiveness, execution, and impact. In this role, the candidate will also work to ensure that Conway's brand and marketing design concepts are translated effectively through a variety of media. Furthermore, it will provide the experience and leadership to analyze client's business needs and translate them into new and innovative experience-driven concepts to suit their purpose.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for creating on-brand, on-strategy compelling creative work for assigned clients.
- Oversee all design projects, from conception to delivery.
- Design across all stages/touch-points of the branding system
- Responsible for mentoring and leading assigned creative staff and being available to critique their work to maintain consistent creative quality and award-winning work.
- Actively involved in hiring/layoffs, assists in staff reviews, and may recommend promotions based on structured performance assessments.
- Provides career path direction and development guidance for creative staff on an on-going basis.
- Coaches and oversees an international team of Art Directors and Designers, providing mentoring and feedback, regularly reviews the work of senior design staff.
- Actively participates in assigned new business development efforts, leading creative teams and developing client response materials.
- Works directly with client managers, project managers, user experience leads, and technical directors on assigned projects.
- Helps maintain active list of creative contractor resources, i.e.: art directors, copywriters, visual designers, photographers, Flash designers/developers, 3D artists, musicians, etc
- Take ownership of entire projects, providing strong leadership and direction while interfacing with clients, and a wide team of creatives and designers.
Requirements
- More than 8 years of experience as a Design Director, Art Director or similar role
- Must speak fluent English and Spanish
- Portfolio of completed design projects
- Hands-on experience with image editing software, like In-Design, Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Keynote
- Proficient in design software (e.g. InDesign and Illustrator)
- Strong aesthetic skills with the ability to combine various colors, fonts and layouts
- Attention to visual details
- Ability to meet deadlines and collaborate with a global team in different offices
- BA degree in Design, Visual Arts or relevant field
- Place destination, Real Estate and Hospitality Marketing Expertise is a plus.
