About the Role: Due to continuous growth of our business, we are seeking experienced Grillers to be a part of our vibrant Back of House (BOH) team based in Meat & Wine Co, Norwest. Reporting to the Head Chef, the successful applicants must have similar experience as Griller, preferably at a premium casual dining restaurant, holding a valid RSA and must be passionate about the hospitality industry to ensure customer satisfaction as utmost priority.
Duties and Responsibilities: Prepares a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other food items for cooking in grills, fryers, broilers, ovens and a variety of other kitchen equipment.Assumes 100% responsibility for quality of products served.Knows and complies consistently with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures.Stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth service period.Portions food products prior to cooking according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications.Maintains a clean and sanitary work station area including tables, shelves, grills, broilers, fryers, pasta cookers, sauté burners, convection oven, flat top range and refrigeration equipment.Prepares items for broiling, grilling, frying, sautéing or other cooking methods by portioning, battering, breading, seasoning and/or marinating.Follows proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes.Handles, stores and rotates all products properly.Assists in food prep assignments during off-peak periods as needed.Performs other related duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager or manager-on-duty.What You Will Need: Minimum 2+ years of proven kitchen experience in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.A minimum Certificate III in Commercial Cookery Qualification or other relevant Diploma.A genuine passion for food, people and the overall hospitality experience.Previous experience in cooking over a char grill would be advantageous.Advanced understanding and appreciation of all aspects of food and its service.Ensure compliance with all WH&S legislation (act and regulation).Great interpersonal skills and work ethics.Must possess full working rights.Flexible availability over a 7-day rotating roster, including nights, weekends and public holidays.What You'll Get: Great Staff Discounts.Be a part of a collaborative team.Ongoing training and development opportunities.Rewarding and long-lasting career opportunities for those who prove.And much, much more!If you are a multi-tasker, experienced around the grill section, flexible and want to build your career in the industry, Meat & Wine Co could be your place to make your mark as we will take you by hand to the way to success allowing you to grow in the industry provided you prove your skills right.
