Description
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager, Accounting to lead our accounting team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the integrity of our financial operations and compliance with all relevant regulations. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a proven track record in risk management, financial reporting, and team development.
Reports To: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Key Responsibilities:Leadership and Management:Lead and mentor the accounting and tax team, fostering a culture of collaboration and high performance.Develop departmental goals and objectives, aligning them with the company's overall strategic plan.Build and develop the accounting team through on-the-job training, coaching, and encouraging continuous professional learning.Financial Reporting:Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP/IFRS standards.Complete monthly/annual closing adhering to the predetermined closing schedule, including interaction with the Shared Service Center.Provide insightful financial analysis and reporting to senior management and stakeholders.Implement potential changes to accounting systems and lead projects to improve the efficiency of financial reporting.Enhance accounting system efficiency through the establishment and/or update of procedures and the use of uniform reporting methods.Tax Compliance:Manage all tax-related activities, including corporate income, indirect, and local tax compliance and reporting.Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize the company's tax position and ensure compliance with all tax laws and regulations.Support the implementation of transfer pricing policies.Audit Coordination:Liaise with external auditors during financial audits, ensuring all required documentation is prepared and submitted.Implement recommendations from audit findings to enhance internal controls and operational efficiency.Policy Development:Establish and enforce accounting policies and procedures to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.Stay current with industry trends and regulatory changes to maintain compliance and mitigate risks.QualificationsEducation: Bachelor's/Masters degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.Extensive experience in tax compliance and financial reporting.Specific knowledge: Strong knowledge of accounting standards, local regulations, and tax laws.Proven experience in financial reporting, proficient in SAP accounting software and ERP systems.Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.Excellent proficiency in English.*Fluency in Mandarin and a strong understanding of Taiwanese tax law are required. Must also be legally authorized to work in Taiwan.
