Job Description The finance team is crucial to maintaining financial health and stability.
It comprises accounts payable, tax and treasury, payroll, and investor relations.
Together, they manage financial planning, transactions, compliance, and investor communications, ensuring the organization operates efficiently and meets its strategic goals.
The role of the General Ledger Accountant involves performing cash management activities and entries, posting prepayments, accruals, reclassifications, reviewing the P&L, and reconciling the balance sheet.
This position requires adherence to established processes and controls, ensuring that GL operations are conducted in a timely and efficient manner.
Responsibilities Perform cash management activities (bank postings and reconciliations, payment reviews, reclassifications); Handle monthly accruals and prepayment postings; Process fixed assets (additions, transfers, disposals, sales); run depreciation and ensure alignment between the module and the general ledger; Perform monthly reconciliations, investigating and resolving outstanding items and discrepancies; Support other GL activities as needed (Cash Management, Fixed Assets, Banks, Intercompany, and BS&PL Account reconciliations); Prepare P&L variance analysis and any detailed P&L reports required ad-hoc or within the closing calendar; Assist during the month-end closing process and year-end audit; Support the Finance team with ad-hoc tasks, projects, and reporting (e.g., local financial statements, IRS claims, monthly KPI reporting, account details); Be a collaborative team player, building strong working relationships with other Finance teams.
Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, or a similar field (or near completion); 2 years of prior experience in GL/Accounting/Finance; Experience in a complex multinational and multicultural environment is desirable; Strong analytical thinking: Ability to select appropriate methods/tools for problem-solving and critically reflect on results; High attention to detail: Ensuring accuracy and completeness of deliverables by applying specific quality standards; Well-organized, structured, and process-improvement-oriented; Ability to self-manage and work effectively as part of a multi-skilled team; Strong teamwork and proactivity: Collaborating with others to achieve common goals; Strong interpersonal skills: Building and maintaining relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds; effective and culturally sensitive communication; Ability to act with sensitivity and discretion when handling confidential matters; Intermediate proficiency in spoken and written English (upper-intermediate level preferred).
