The US Team Synapse Medicine is growing its US team to support our initial batch of customers and the substantial pipeline of potential new partners. The US team works in collaboration with the French team and is led by teammates with experience at Surescripts, Truepill, and Optum.
The Role We are seeking a skilled Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer with expertise in backend and frontend development to join the dynamic team working on our US product suite. As a Full-Stack Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the backend services and the frontend components of our products, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality features and improvements.
This role will report to the Vice President, US Business Operations and work closely on a day-to-day basis with a Lead Software Engineer on the French technical team.
Primary Responsibilities Address and resolve backend and frontend incidents promptly to ensure minimal disruption to services. Collaborate with Product Managers to contribute to the design of new features, providing technical insights and feasibility assessments. Translate functional requirements for new features into code with efficiency and simplicity. Maintain the stability and scalability of the application to support current operations and future growth. Implement unit and functional tests for existing and upcoming developments. Follow and promote best practices and coding standards to ensure code quality, maintainability, and performance. Participate in code reviews and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement. Technical Qualifications Proficiency in the following coding languages: Java for backend; Javascript, Typescript for frontend. Prior experience working with Spring framework for backend development and React framework for frontend development. Strong understanding of API and system design principles, with a focus on secure coding practices. Familiarity with CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions and GitLab CI for automated build, test, and deployment. Business Qualifications Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. At least 5 years of experience as a Full-Stack Software Engineer or similar role, demonstrating a track record of delivering impactful solutions. Proven ability to collaborate effectively with product management, design, and other engineering teams. Comfort working with international teams. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly in a cross-functional team environment. Ability to work autonomously and take initiative to solve problems with minimal direction. Adaptability to evolving requirements and priorities in a fast-paced startup environment. Nice to haves Understanding or experience with at least one of the following: electronic health/medical records, pharmacy management systems, clinical decision support, electronic prescribing, pharmacy benefit managers, and/or health data exchanges. This is a full-time, remote position that can be performed from anywhere within the United States, Columbia, Argentina, or Mexico. The standard working hours for this role are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern Time.
In addition to the core working hours, this role requires flexibility to support blocking incidents that may occur between 5:00 PM and 8:00 PM Eastern Time, Monday through Friday. This ensures that our team can promptly address critical issues and maintain the stability and reliability of our systems.
The target salary range for this position will be determined as a part of a competitive total rewards package and will vary based on a number of factors including experience, location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations.
