Description
JOB DESCRIPTION: Keywords: · The Tooling Engineer is responsible to design and develop fixtures and small hand-tool for assembly to support prototyping activities within the design-engineering department. Responsibilities include designing, initiation of sourcing and managing fabrication. Key emphasis will be on ability to understand complex assemblies and components, and to translate these into tools that enable prototyping be completed on time and on budget. The incumbent will also need to work with outside vendors to ensure we are using the state of the art in tooling and fixturing designs.
Responsibilities & Accountabilities · Experience in composite tooling design and fabrication
· Ability to model 3D modelling for tooling
· Manage outside vendors with on time and on budget delivery of tooling components when required
· Review and critique 2D drawings and develop and manage tooling specifications
· Ability to perform tolerance stack up analysis and full understanding of GD&T
· Develop innovative solutions for component fabrication and assembly using proven composite bonding and fastening techniques
· Work as part of a fast-paced design engineering team taking part in DFMEAs,PFMEAs and other risk management events
· Support all first article inspection requirements for tooling, prototyping, and PPAP events as part of the design lifecycle
· Provide Design team with inputs of Design for Assembly/Manufacturing needs in early planning.
· Conduct Product Study & Define assembly process keeping in consideration Quality, Safety, Delivery & Ergonomics.
· Associate Part, Tool & Quality attributes with the process definition.
· Tool communization, Cost optimizations. Suggest enhancements/improvement by comparing with earlier product-line.
· Project management with responsibility for delivery, quality, time and innovation
Degree and qualification :
· Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Production Engineering
· Experience in Tooling, Manufacturing Engineering, Assembly domain from automotive industry with very good understanding of assembly processes
Domain Skills: · Technical background in Assembly Planning and Digital Validation.
· Good hands on Experience & Exposure to General Assembly process and Problem resolution.
· Software and System know how (e.g., DELMIA V5/Process Simulate/ Vismockup / Team center visualization/Human Jack etc.)
· Research oriented approach and idea generation skills to encounter problems
Must IT skills: Knowledge of MS-Office, Presentation, having coding is desirable Personal skills : Technical comprehension, Presentation Skills, pronounced goal and result orientation, customer orientation, Teamwork, communication skills, giving and receiving feedback. Open minded to address critical issues, errors and mistakes, structured, independent working, self-initiative and self-organization.
Desirable: German la nguage skills (business fluent).

3) Commercial/purchasing + Supplier Technical communication: 40%
