Job Description - Exterior Add-On Parts Development (MER0003BW9)

Description Role: Ensure component design complies with product requirements (specifications), including manufacturing feasibility, homologation checks, functional checks, package checks, etc. Work with cross-functional teams and suppliers to ensure component maturity as per project milestones. Project management and supplier management to ensure project deliverables as per project time plans until SOP. Experience: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering. 1-5 years of experience in automotive component design/development of interior or exterior trims. Knowledge of product requirements for trim parts, e.g., bumpers, grille, rocker panel, spoiler, or interior trim parts. Able to understand simulation/testing results and optimize components accordingly. Experience working with PLM (Product Life Cycle Management) software. Experience with product development processes like APQP (QFD, DFMEA, PFMEA)/VDA, DOE, PPAP in the automotive industry. Experience working in cross-functional teams and with suppliers. Independently managed component design/development phases. Knowledge of automotive trims engineering, plastic materials, plastic manufacturing, plastic tooling requirements, and automotive trims trends. General Requirements: Self-motivated. Excellent interpersonal/communication skills (cross-functional negotiations, presentations to committees, etc.). Good analytical skills.
