Location: Exeter or Bristol, minimum of 3 days in the office.
Role Overview: DeGould is an exciting, multi-award-winning company in the software and AI sector.
The company develops and delivers innovative vision and damage detection systems to a range of blue-chip corporate clients (including Toyota, Ford, Jaguar Land Rover, Mercedes Benz, Nissan, Honda, and Bentley).
As the company embarks on an exciting growth phase, it plans to expand the team, further develop existing products, and explore opportunities for new ones.
DeGould requires an Engineering Manager, who is willing to manage a team of software engineers (and to lead other disciplines as required by our Product Led model) whilst maintaining a close personal connection to the code and technical discipline at the core of our delivery.

Key Responsibilities: Managing stakeholder communications, including liaising with customers and contractors.Building a detailed understanding of customer requirements, documenting and disseminating.Owning the team's delivery plan, tracking and reporting weekly progress, resource planning.Identifying and implementing the processes needed to scale the function.Leading a Product team in the Engineering Manager role – working closely with the Product Owner/Manager for the team in application of Agile principles.Line Management of staff within the Software function, providing clear feedback to team members and listening to their concerns, directing them to help and escalating as necessary.Running tracked 121 sessions with your direct reports.Building strong relationships and working alongside peers from Product, ML, and Engineering.Creating a culture of ownership and accountability within the team.Fostering a healthy dynamic within your teams, leading on resolving interpersonal conflicts.Skills: Managing a team towards the technical delivery of high-quality software applications.Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with employees and stakeholders at all levels.A champion for agile methodologies and working cross-functionally.A passion for technology and software development, advocating modern practices and ways of working.Fluent in cloud technologies and services, particularly AWS core services (ECS, Lambda, S3, etc.
).Good understanding of microservice and event-driven architectures.Ability to lead, coach, and develop software engineers.Behaviours:
