Mercedes-Benz Research & Development North America, Inc. (MBRDNA) is seeking an Engineering intern to join the US Experience team at our regional office in Long Beach, CA. The US Experience team drives to establish Mercedes-Benz as a technology leader in the US luxury segment. Our team develops, tests, and validates US Software applications to deliver the best US customer experience possible. We perform product research to influence and drive innovation and improve vehicle features at different touch points throughout the customer journey. We all contribute to a combined One Voice US strategy that drives impactful propositions that create market pull and enhance our customer's experience. We are looking for an Engineering Intern to contribute to the development and testing of Mercedes-Benz's speech dialogue system. You will split your time between conducting hands-on experiments and tests in our lab and test vehicles, collaborating closely with engineers to analyze data and draw insights. Additionally, you will leverage collaborative tools to ensure the project remains up-to-date and comprehensive, coordinating with team members to track progress and complete tasks efficiently. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain insights into the product development cycle of telematic software in Mercedes-Benz vehicles and understand the diverse roles and responsibilities of stakeholders. Besides learning the E2E test workflow, the internship will entail a stand-alone project to improve current voice recognition testing by verifying speech intentions. The internship is scheduled to run min. 6 months, requiring 40 hours per week. Ideal candidates are current Bachelor or Master students who possess a robust understanding of cloud and embedded software testing, along with hands-on experience in test automation. Job Responsibilities:Support E2E development testing of vehicle speech recognition features on test benches and in vehicles, while also creating and tracking defects within our defect management system.Improve the reliability of current automated test cases and increase the number of automated test cases to consistently guarantee a high-quality customer experience.Automate data analysis, error identification, direct communication with ECUs, and message extraction from specific ECUs, beginning with local real-time DLT parsing and leading up to more complex cloud-based data analysis.Bonus: Expand capabilities to other ECUs to check their status/configurations.Minimum Qualifications:Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in computer, electrical and/or electronics engineering or related fields.Knowledge of Python.Understanding of Cloud and Networking.Experience using the Atlassian's REST API.Experience in performing E2E system testing.Ability to work in a collaborative environment such as shared Cloud Drives, Confluence, Jira, Microsoft Teams.Highly motivated self-learner to solve real world engineering problems.Valid US Driver's License.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with Robot framework.Familiar with analyzing DLT logs.Familiar parsing real time data. The current hourly rate for this position is as follows and may be modified in the future: $28 (Undergraduate Students)/$32 (Graduate Students).
