Job Description Objective of job China as our most important and greatest market, pushing massively towards electric mobility. Standards, regulations, and the market competition for New Energy Vehicles (NEV) are changing rapidly.
Within this fast-growing and developing business of Mercedes-Benz in China, the electric drive unit and drivetrain department is continuously developing. While series production for PHEVs and BEVs will be soon running under full steam, new electric products need to be developed and implemented.
For our Electric Drive Unit team, this means the local NEV market needs to be monitored and benchmarked in order to find the best concepts and define the MB components for customer needs. More components will be localized with local engineering including E-motors, inverters, and other sub-components within the eATS (elektrischer Antriebstrang). This means you will:
Be responsible for market monitoring and benchmarking for eATS / eMotor and Inverter components.Define possible future MB eATS concepts and components.Provide regular market overviews and Benchmark reports.Be responsible for eATS and eDrive system definition for possible future carlines.Support for Prototype car build-up and commissioning.Be responsible for local eATS/Inverter/eMotor engineering support.Be responsible for next-generation e-motors and inverters engineering co-development with HQ in Germany.Develop and manage potential E-Motor, Inverter, and eATS local suppliers.Support System issue analyzing and failure tracking.Task description Market monitoring and Benchmarking.Benchmarking and Market reports.Definition and support for future eDrive and eATS systems.Develop and manage potential future local suppliers.Reporting to management.Internal coordination for RD and cross-functional topics.Support for eDrive system and component testing and issue analyzing.Qualifications Education:
University degree in electrical, mechatronic or automotive engineering.
Specific requirements: Experienced in development of eDrive components e.g. e-motor, inverter or eATS eDrive System knowledge.Fluent written/spoken English.Good understanding and practical experience of development projects.Project management skills to manage cross-functional teams and suppliers.Self-responsible working attitude, self-motivated, and innovative work style with a strive for constant improvement of work efficiency.Computer skills, office applications.Communication skills with various hierarchy levels and different cultural backgrounds.Strong planning and supplier management skills.
