China is our most important and greatest market and is pushing massively towards electric mobility. Standards and regulations for New Energy Vehicles change rapidly. Within this fast-growing and developing business of Daimler in China, the powertrain department is continuously developing. While series production for PHEVs and BEVs will soon be running under full steam, new electric products need to be implemented. For our BMS OBD Engineer role, it means familiarizing with the BECM system and diagnostics. Responsibilities include calibration work of the diagnosis system/PRP monitoring of BMS, fault memory according to regulations & MB internal standards, battery SOH monitoring and accuracy validation, OBD documentation preparation, and BECM pre-PVE. The target is to ensure the BMS OBD function quality and release. Qualifications
Education: University degree in electrical, mechanical, or automotive engineering
Experience: BMS functions, HV safety BAMBattery system control strategy, capacity calculation, and diagnostic calibrationBECM system development and validation experience preferred, system-level issue analysis, and failure managementExperience in OBD generic scan tool and communicationSpecific knowledge: Fluent written/spoken English, fluent written/spoken Chinese, fluent knowledge in German is helpfulKnowledge in BMS SW development (e.g. Vector Autosar BSW)Experience in BMS functions (e.g. HV-safety, algorithm, function safety)Software skills in Vector CANape/CANoe, INCA, and DTS MonacoSolid understanding of worldwide OBD and high voltage battery regulations (GB 18352.6; CCR T131968.2; CCR T13 1962.5; EU BVO, upcoming CN7)Knowledge in SAE J1979; SAE J1979-2/-3; SAE 2012DAMercedes Benz EE and powertrain architecture beneficialCommunication skills and ability to work with different cultural backgroundsProject management skills to manage cross-functional teams
