The financial consultant (associate) will be a key resource of the Retirement and Income Solutions (RIS) Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team.

The candidate will be responsible for consolidating financial results, budgets, plan and projection models, and preparing financial reports to help the team and senior management understand financial trends across our business units. The candidate will prepare reports for projected financial metrics (P&L, Sales, Balance Sheet, cashflows, PFOs, Embedded Value) relative to comparable periods, including prior projections, plan, and actual financial results. S/he will also perform analysis as needed to help the team understand business drivers of change and help resolve discrepancies.
The candidate will collaborate with members of the RIS FP&A team (including product analysts), the RIS CFOs, RIS Controllers, US Business Finance, Expense Reporting, and other key finance partners in the reporting of the 3-year plan and monthly projections. The candidate will also be expected to help prepare management presentations to help articulate the key performance drivers, economic and non-economic assumptions, product/industry trends, and risks/opportunities. The candidate will also help to identify and execute on opportunities to streamline and automate financial reporting processes and tools.

Consolidate financial projections/budgets/resultsData management of financial models and reportsPerform iterative improvements to reporting and analytic capabilitiesUnderstand business plans and their relationship to the financial arenaLead projects as necessaryAnalyze various financial measures such as profitability, mortality, sales & other metrics under GAAP, STAT & stress scenariosPartner with RIS Statutory team to create/enhance and produce monthly STAT projection reportIdentify opportunities for improvement/automation of key processesRequired: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics or another field of expertise or equivalent work experienceStrong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; ability to write SQL scripts and macrosStrong attention to detailDemonstrates effective written and oral communications and business acumen with all parties to consulting relationshipsPreferred: Financial experience in a public or private company environment with proven ability to apply or provide complex technical knowledge or adviceLife Insurance industry experience; and knowledge of the business, products and servicesExperience with AnaplanData management/data science skills, with working knowledge of SQL, Alteryx, Access Database, ADVANCED Excel, Oracle, Database ManagementPassion for continuous improvement and seeking ways to build efficiencies into financial reporting processes
