FM is currently expanding its Boiler & Machinery Consultant Engineering team in Monterrey. Responsibilities Evaluate the integrity and reliability of equipment, identify hazards and deficiencies to deliver focused risk improvement solutions and reduce equipment risk. Utilize operating standards, data sheets and guides to provide risk guidance and implement best practices. Prepare engineering reports, loss expectancies to support risk improvement. Collaborate with Operations Engineering, Client Services, Account Management and Underwriting on Boiler & Machinery recommendations. Engineers will work from a home office, must be able to manage their time and work independently with minimal supervision. This is a field-based role and will require travel to large, complex industrial client sites to evaluate the operations and systems of the site and identify risks and hazards. Expected overnight travel is from 50 to 100 nights per year. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering is preferred, but bachelor's degrees in other engineering proficiencies would also be acceptable for the right candidate. Minimum of 3 years' experience in the power generation industry or experience in working with power generation equipment and systems at other high hazard industries such as chemical, oil/gas, or petroleum. Knowledge of electrical and mechanical equipment and systems such as switchgear, transformers, turbines, generators, compressors, boilers, pressure vessels, system interrelationships as well as the associated safety devices for equipment and systems. Familiarity with asset integrity management / strategies and process safety are strongly preferred! Demonstrated experience to understand basic machinery and equipment along with hands-on exposure. Strong verbal and written communication skills and proficiency in MS Office products are required. Must be analytical, organized and have good problem solving and interpersonal skills. Previous field experience is preferred. A valid driver's license is required as a company car is provided. English skills (fluent spoken and written). A valid B1/B2 USA visa is required.
