We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper with expertise in Canadian bookkeeping practices. This position is ideal for a proactive professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a strong command of accounting software, compliance, and best practices for Canadian businesses.
Key Responsibilities Financial Record Management: Maintain accurate financial records, including income, expenses, and transactions, ensuring they are up-to-date and audit-ready.Accounting Software Proficiency: Utilize tools such as QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage to manage financial data and generate reports.Payroll Management: Process payroll, including generating T4s and calculating CPP and EI contributions.Tax Compliance: Support the preparation and filing of corporate taxes (T2), GST/HST, and other regulatory submissions in compliance with CRA requirements.Financial Reporting: Generate monthly financial statements, balance sheets, and other reports as needed.Reconciliation: Reconcile accounts, including bank statements, credit cards, and general ledger.Small Business Support: Assist Canadian small businesses and CCPCs with day-to-day financial management.Collaboration: Work closely with clients to ensure their financial needs are met while providing exceptional customer service.Deadline Adherence: Monitor key deadlines for payroll, tax filings, and financial reporting, ensuring timely submissions.Qualifications Education or certifications in accounting, bookkeeping, or finance (e.g., CPB, QuickBooks, Xero, Sage) (medium priority).Proficiency in accounting software like QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage (high priority).Knowledge of Canadian tax laws, including corporate tax (T2), GST/HST, payroll (T4s, CPP, EI), and CRA compliance (low priority).Experience working with Canadian small businesses and CCPCs (High priority).Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and clear communication.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote, fast-paced environment.Why Join Us?
