The Platform Operability team is responsible for managing our main application's software infrastructure and supporting its architecture through configuration, deployment of its services, and keeping things up to date.
As a Backend Software Engineer, you will be heavily involved in those tasks, while ensuring clear communication between our infrastructure and delivery teams, and enabling collaboration across multiple engineering teams.
Your challenges and objectives:Provide the environments where Avature's applications run.Design the deployment and configuration of those applications.Envision integrations between different internal systems.Program complex operations to scale in globally distributed datacenters.Develop system tools to automate environment creation and deployments.Interact with different virtualization platforms: AWS, KVM, LXD, Docker.Build continuous testing by automation and virtualization.Design and develop highly distributed systems.Perform code reviews, technical analysis of existing code, and refactors to improve code quality.Design our configuration management system, deployment platform and its associated processes.Design and maintain our CI/CD pipelines.Monitor and operate our QA environments.About you:Minimum Qualifications: Software development skills and methodologies.Solid understanding of operating system concepts and Linux experience.Knowledge of (or willingness to learn about) infrastructure management technologies (Puppet, Ansible, Packer, Terraform, LXD, AWS, KVM, Docker, etc.)Preferred Qualifications: Fluency in any structured programming language (preferably Python).Experience in product as a service operation.Open source experience or contribution to any Linux/Unix distribution.What we offer:A fast-paced, energetic, and engaging environment.Flexible hours.Work remotely or come by the office as much as you want.Four salary reviews per year.Option to earn part of your salary in US dollars.Three weeks vacations from the first year.Four weeks paternity leave.OSDE 310 health coverage (family plan).Four days a year to attend events related to professional development.End of year week off (December 26 to 31).Birthdays off.
