Assistant Vice President for DEI Strategic PlanningUnder the guidance of the Vice President and Chief Officer and Associate Vice President for the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, the Assistant Vice President for the Office of Diversity and Inclusion develops, recommends, and executes short and long-term strategies, networks, programs, and internal and external engagements that enhance diversity and inclusion.
The Assistant Vice President leads and assists with efforts tied to institutional action planning, network and infrastructure building, and assessment systems to monitor progress.
The primary responsibility is to assist the Vice President and Associate Vice President in promoting an institutional culture of inclusive excellence across Cal Poly.
Division Summary
The Office of University Diversity and Inclusion (OUDI) strategically works to enhance the campus climate through embedding diversity and educational equity in all aspects of the University.

Key Qualifications
• Strategic and innovative leader with proven expertise in diversity and equity areas and experience in leading DEI initiatives.
• Knowledge of Cal Poly's mission and goals as a student-centered university dedicated to teaching excellence and important learning with a university-first perspective and demonstrated ability to execute objectives in support of the mission.
• Ability to establish a clear and understandable vision for Educational Equity and Diversity, engage the university community in the implementation of the vision, and build and align the operational components to execute the vision.
• Ability to lead and enable diverse groups of people to face challenges and achieve results in complex conditions.
• Demonstrated ability to enhance diversity, inclusiveness, and access in all areas of the university.
Education and Experience
Master's degree in a related field plus five years of progressively responsible work in a diversity and inclusion unit or related area and a minimum of three years leading and/or supervising the work of others.
Salary and Benefits
Salary commensurate with the background and experience of the individual selected.
