Description
The Assistant Manager - Compliance will play a pivotal role in supporting the General Counsel and Local Compliance Responsible in the development and maintenance of a robust compliance program for our retail operations and regional logistics center in Malaysia. This role ensures adherence to corporate compliance standards, local laws, and regulations, fostering a culture of integrity and accountability across the organization.
Key Responsibilities · Daily Compliance Support: Provide ongoing compliance support for retail operations in Malaysia, ensuring adherence to all regulatory requirements and internal policies.
· Coordination of Compliance Activities: Oversee and coordinate compliance initiatives within the agent network and regional logistics center, promoting effective compliance practices across all levels.
· Policy Implementation: Implement and enforce standards and processes aligned with the global Mercedes-Benz Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Terrorist Financing policies for the retail network in Malaysia.
· Guidance and Consultation: Serve as a key resource for compliance and integrity obligations by communicating and collaborating with the Local Compliance Officer, offering guidance and local consultation to employees.
· Monitoring and Approval: Coordinate and monitor compliance topics in accordance with internal policies, ensuring clarity and support for all compliance-related matters.
· Policy Development: Collaborate with management to develop, update, and enhance compliance policies and procedures in response to regulatory changes and evolving business practices.
· Risk Assessment Support: Assist in the execution of annual and ongoing compliance risk assessments for the entity/business units, ensuring a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating compliance risks.
· Training and Awareness Programs: Conduct training sessions and awareness programs based on established compliance measures, ensuring all employees are informed of their compliance responsibilities.
· Customer Data Compliance Management: Respond to customer inquiries and manage requests related to data protection and compliance topics, ensuring alignment with applicable data protection regulations.
Qualifications
Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Law, Finance, or a related field. Professional certification (e.g., Certification in Regulatory Compliance (CRC) and Certification in Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Financing in Terrorism (CAML) is an advantage. 3-5 years of experience in compliance, risk management, or a similar role. Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, including anti-money laundering and data protection laws. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with various stakeholders. Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and compliance management tools.
