Careers and Employability Team The Assistant Careers Consultant role is part of our Careers and Employability team, which supports students throughout their academic journey by helping them plan and achieve their career goals.
The role As an Assistant Careers Consultant, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in providing career advice, guidance, and support to students and graduates within a Higher Education environment.
This position is ideal for aspiring or trainee careers professionals looking to build skills in career counseling and career development.
In this role, you will: Offer tailored career information, advice, and guidance to students and graduates.
Help students reflect on their values, interests, and abilities to make informed career decisions.
Support students in developing the skills and resources they need to successfully manage their careers and secure employment, further study, or training opportunities.
About You We are seeking a candidate with experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds, supporting their personal development or career goals.
You should possess: Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Proactive problem-solving abilities.
A passion for mentoring and empowering others to achieve their goals.
A team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
An understanding of current issues in higher education, graduate employment, and career trends.

Closing Date: 10 November 2024 1st round of interviews is scheduled to take place on w/c 20th November.
Successful candidates on the 1st interview stage will be invited to do a site visit to the Leeds Campus on w/c 25th November with a 2nd interview stage to follow on w/c 2nd December.
This role will not attract sufficient points to obtain a sponsored Skilled Worker visa under the points-based immigration system, however applications are welcome from candidates who don't currently have the right to work in the UK, but who would be eligible to obtain a visa via another route.
