Description and Requirements This position is for a Financial Consultant within the Global Specialized Securities Accounting group. Responsibilities include monitoring various accounting activities to ensure accurate and timely processing, performing a variety of financial reconciliation to verify accuracy of securities held by MetLife. Additionally, this candidate has a strong financial accounting background with a passion for process improvement and robotic technologies. This Candidate is a key contributor to ensure accurate reporting of financial results on a monthly/quarterly basis. The position reports to the Director of Global Securities Controls in Tampa, FL with Metrix management to Investment Finance Regional Manager in Argentina.
Job Responsibilities: Review complex transactions and prepare/post journal entries. LATAM Balance Sheet and Income Statement GAAP/HYPE reconciliation of Ledger vs Sub-Ledger systems. Assist in financial data analysis, trending for month-end close, reporting and ad-hoc reports. Assist with implementing and maintaining internal controls and document processes. Provide audit support. Perform other related duties as assigned or required.
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills: Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting, or equivalent work experience. 5-8 yrs. financial experience in a public or private company environment; insurance industry experience preferred. Working knowledge of GAAP/STAT accounting concepts, principles, and practices. Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, vlookups, etc). Proficiency in Access (tables, queries, etc). Experience using digital automation software a plus (Alteryx, RPA, etc). Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize, solve problems and meet deadlines. Demonstrated leadership skills with success in setting goals and competing priorities. Strong analytical and communication skills. Knowledge of financial accounting and reporting systems (PAM, BI Publish, PeopleSoft, Other Oracle products) a plus.
