Job Overview We are looking for an energetic problem solver with import/export and ocean freight experience to join our operations team in San Juan. The Logistics Specialist will be responsible for important logistics and customer service tasks and will be the primary point of contact for multiple accounts for our Eagle Logistics Systems division. Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities: Provide exceptional customer service while building relationships with new and existing customers. Manage all inquiries and requests within a timely manner. Administer and create files with all booking necessary information (Purchase Order, Booking, Container Size, Temperature, Sail Date, etc). Organize booking requests with steamship lines through different means of communication. Manage and maintain all inventory onsite by planning, verifying appointments and providing visibility to customer. Send the customer a daily on-hand inventory report and appointment schedule. Ensure the customer is up to date on all product discrepancies received (damage, shortage, and overage). Prepare all loading plans based on customer's instructions and approved weight and/or cubes. Provide solutions and recommendations on loading customer freight. Supply manifest with final loading information to customer. Submit bill of ladings to steamship line according to commodity. Confirm sailings and update the system with accurate information. Notify the customer if sailing dates are different than originally planned. Create invoice and send to customer. Facilitate service failure investigation/complaint and ensure corrective and preventive actions are in place. Manage all claim processes within a timely manner. Must be able to meet deadlines easily. Clear verbal and written communication skills. Education & Experience: Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required.
Experience: 2 to 5 years of previous logistics, ocean freight, or customer service experience is required.
Language Requirements:
Candidates must be able to speak, read, and write in English fluently. Preferred Language Skills: English and Spanish.
Required Skills: 0-3 years of experience.
