ACCOUNTANT BASED MONACO – PERMANENT POSITION FULL TIME AGREEMENT / HYBRID WORKING / €70-80,000 GROSS SALARY
Headquartered in Monaco but with offices in New York, VeUP's business relation is a bespoke single family office handling investment management and wealth management. The firm seeks to identify and capitalize on global opportunities in the public equity markets, long-short, and in the private equity markets, direct and alongside sponsors.
They are looking for a fully qualified Accountant to be based from Monaco. Candidates should note that the company is looking to hire someone on a permanent contract full time.
Reporting to the Founder of the business, the Accountant will be responsible for managing the booking and all the financial transactions to meet IFRS rules and compliance. There is still some backlog work to be done accounting for the 2023 period, before turning your attention to the set-up of procedures and processes to smoothly integrate the weekly accounting tasks associated with the company's business.
Key responsibilities include: Accounting entries in the system, ensuring that the financial information and accounting records impacting Local and IFRS GAAP ledgers are complete, accurate and auditable. Control of the writing and accounting analysis. Preparation of accounting statements. Prepare month-end reporting. Ensure that processes and internal policies are respected. Prepare other ad-hoc and routine reports. Be available to answer any financial queries from the manager. Perform ad-hoc analyses and produce reports for internal and external (auditors, regulators) distribution. Prepare financial statements for local charter accountants.
The relevant candidate is educated to degree calibre in Accountancy and Finance. You are qualified/part qualified to Chartered Accountancy standard – Ordre des Experts-Comptables (Institute of Chartered Accountants) OEC or Good Accounting Practice (GAP). Other internationally recognised Chartered Accounting accreditations will be considered. We would be keen for the relevant candidate to have a good appreciation of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
This role will suit candidates from a range of industry sectors and we would especially like to hear from anyone who has previously done accountancy work for venture capital, private equity businesses, Family Offices or high net worth individuals. Excellent business level written and spoken English is a must.
