Job Description After the final approval by the development organization and before a new Mercedes-Benz passenger car can be released to the market, the quality organization (QM) is checking the car in regards of customer readiness. For that purpose, the global QM Master Hub in headquarters has set-up so called QM Satellites in the most important markets. Japan is one of those markets. This position if focusing on all aspects of E-Drive (driving performance and charging) and the Mercedes-me-connect (Mmc) Services and its related features on the mobile customer device.
The QM Satellite is analyzing the market needs and customer feedback from the Japanese market. He is involved into the entire R&D testing process to identify system and concept limitations as early as possible. In close cooperation with the global QM Master Hub the final QM tests are conducted and documented which will ultimately result into a market release recommendation from the local QM Satellite.

Understanding the needs and expectations from Japanese customers Regular communication with MBJ product management and technical service to understand the expectations of Japanese customers and receive customer feedback first handed. Information sharing on market specific concept demands with QM Master Hub considering the local culture, customer expectations and the local language. Monitoring of market trends from technology and society perspective. 2
Vehicle preparation and vehicle handling before, during and after QM test drives Set-up and implementation of testing infrastructure and testing surrounding provided by QM Master Hub. Purchasing and maintenance of the mobile testing equipment and respective tooling in alignment with QM Master Hub. Import and registration of the QM vehicles in cooperation with MB Japan and R&D Japan administration team. Coordination of the HW- and SW updates required for Q-Release vehicles in close cooperation with R&D Japan Workshop and Update Team for HW updates, SW updates and coding. Installation of logging equipment for the documentation of the findings during the QM drive. Reversing Q-vehicles to original configuration (e.g. removing data logger, etc.) before handover to sales organization. 3 Testing and validation of the QM releases Participation in R&D release testing in the early stage of a project to familiarize with new features, functions and the maturity level of the new SW generations. Execution of QM test drives with and without participation of R&D in alignment with QM Master Hub. That can include stationary tests at the office, single-day test drives from and to the office or even multi-day test drives all over Japan. Documentation of testing results via a web-based defect system (STARC). Preparation of defect tickets including all relevant log data from the vehicle. Organizing daily wrap-up meetings with all involved parties and moderating the meeting. Decision making about defect VoCa (Voice of Customer) priorities from customer perspective. Providing the release recommendation to the QM Master Hub for each tested vehicle release Preparing a final test report including management summary 4 Project management Organization of the QM testing schedule for several projects in parallel. Route planning and maintenance of a reference testing catalogue for all infotainment and connected car features. Coordination of all parties involved into the QM test drives (MB Japan, R&D Japan, QM Master Hub and suppliers) Close cooperation with QM Master Hub for the alignment of all relevant activities for QM releases in Japan Being the "ambassador" of the customers' voice in the local R&D team. *As a general rule, this is a local contract position

Education/Languages Bachelor's degree in engineering, ideally in the automotive industry focusing on high voltage systems and/or connected digital features. Solid Japanese cultural background and proficient Japanese language skills on the level of a native speaker Germen language skills as a plus Technical Good technical understanding of EE vehicle architectures and high voltage systems in vehicles includes the battery as well as the electrical drive train. Ideally solid understanding of the architecture of cloud-based applications. Having hands-on experience with vehicles. Soft Skills / Personality High enthusiasm for passenger cars, specifically for the models of the brand Mercedes-Benz. Excellent communication and presentation skills Strong customer orientation Experiences 3+ years of experience in the automotive industry at an OEM or supplier. Ideally experience in customer relationship management
