As a Research & Development office abroad, we support all activities of Mercedes-Benz Group AG in the field of eMobility for the Japanese market.
Job Description After final approval by the development organization, and before a new Mercedes-Benz passenger car can be released to the market, the quality organization (QM) checks the car in regards to customer readiness. The global QM Master Hub has set up QM Satellites in the most important markets, including Japan. This position focuses on the infotainment system and the connected features (Navigation, Tuner, TV, Player, Games, News, Climate via haptic control, voice, gestures, etc.).
The QM Satellite analyzes market needs and customer feedback from the Japanese market. He is involved in the entire R&D testing process to identify system and concept limitations as early as possible. In close cooperation with the global QM Master Hub, the final QM tests are conducted and documented, ultimately resulting in a market release recommendation from the local QM Satellite.
Understanding the needs and expectations from Japanese customersRegular communication with MBJ product management and technical service to understand customer expectations and receive feedback.Information sharing on market-specific concept demands with QM Master Hub considering local culture and language.Monitoring of market trends from technology and societal perspectives.Vehicle preparation and handling before, during, and after QM test drivesSet-up and implementation of testing infrastructure provided by QM Master Hub.Purchasing and maintenance of mobile testing equipment in alignment with QM Master Hub.Import and registration of QM vehicles in cooperation with MB Japan and R&D Japan administration team.Coordination of HW and SW updates required for Q-Release vehicles with R&D Japan Workshop and Update Team.Installation of logging equipment for documentation during QM drives.Reversing Q-vehicles to original configuration before handover to sales organization.Testing and validation of QM releasesParticipation in R&D release testing in the early stages of a project to familiarize with new features and functions.Execution of QM test drives with and without R&D participation in alignment with QM Master Hub.Documentation of testing results via a web-based defect system (STARC) and preparation of defect tickets.Organizing daily wrap-up meetings with all involved parties.Decision making about defect VoCa (Voice of Customer) priorities.Providing release recommendations to the QM Master Hub for each tested vehicle release.Preparing a final test report including management summary.Project managementOrganization of the QM testing schedule for several projects in parallel.Route planning and maintenance of a reference testing catalogue for all infotainment and connected car features.Coordination of all parties involved in QM test drives.Close cooperation with QM Master Hub for alignment of activities for QM releases in Japan.Being the "ambassador" of the customers' voice in the local R&D team.*As a general rule, this is a local contract position

*Contact: ****** Qualifications Education/Languages Bachelor's degree in engineering, ideally in the automotive industry focusing on infotainment and connected digital features.Solid Japanese cultural background and proficient Japanese language skills at a native level.German language skills as a plus.Technical Good technical understanding of EE vehicle architectures.Ideally solid understanding of the architecture of cloud-based applications.Hands-on experience with vehicles.Soft Skills / Personality High enthusiasm for passenger cars, specifically for Mercedes-Benz models.Excellent communication and presentation skills.Strong customer orientation.Experiences 3+ years of experience in the automotive industry at an OEM or supplier.Ideally experience in customer relationship management.
