Within the New IT HUB Sales - Retail of the Future supporting the strategic Mercedes Benz Program we need a Program Test & Test Automation Expert
The Program Test & Test Automation role within Mercedes-Benz is responsible for planning, executing, and automating testing efforts while ensuring alignment with program requirements. This role leverages technical knowledge related to test automation, cloud services (AWS, Azure), data mesh architectures, and data engineering.
Description of role and responsibilities Professionalize testing and test automations together with the head of testing in VdZ program.
Increase quality and coverage of testing and of test automation.
Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts, ensuring comprehensive test coverage and reliability.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, architects, and program management, to align testing efforts with program objectives.
Design and maintain test automation frameworks, optimizing testing processes and increasing efficiency.
Test within cloud environments (AWS, Azure), addressing unique testing challenges in cloud-based solutions and ensuring data consistency.
Utilize industry-standard tools for test automation and test management to streamline testing efforts.
Facilitate communication between testing teams, development teams, data professionals, and other stakeholders to ensure successful testing within the program.
Embrace Agile program management practices to align testing efforts with program goals and drive continuous improvement, emphasizing data-driven integration and data consistency within the program's environment.
Qualifications
Education deg ree &technical experience Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a STEM related field.
Relevant certifications, such as ISTQB (International Software Testing Qualifications Board) or AWS Certified Developer, are advantageous.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in software testing, test automation, and cloud services (AWS, Azure) within the program environment.
Technical knowledge/Accountabilities Extensive knowledge in test automation, continuous integration and continuous delivery frameworks, tools, and best practices.
Strong understanding of cloud services (AWS, Azure) and their impact on testing processes.
Familiarity with program-level testing, integration, data mesh architectures, and data engineering.
Knowledge of industry-standard tools for test automation and test management, as well as proficiency in software testing methodologies, including Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall.
Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and strategies.
Experience (skills and years) 5 years of proven experience in test planning, execution, and automation, ensuring alignment with program requirements.
Successful collaboration with cross-functional teams, including developers, architects, and program management, to ensure test coverage and reliability.
Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain test automation frameworks, optimizing testing processes.
Expertise in testing within cloud environments (AWS, Azure) and addressing unique testing challenges in cloud-based solutions.
Knowledge of program-level testing practices and Agile program management to align testing efforts with program objectives.
Diverse experiences with the software testing life cycle following a globally recognized testing methodology, including user acceptance tests, system tests, and system integration tests.
First-hand experience in state-of-the-art development practices (CI/CD, end-to-end testing, etc.)
Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
Knowledge of the German language is a plus.
