Job Overview The strategic project manager reports directly to the VP of Network Development and Special Projects and is an integral part of the Network Development management team. The position manages all cross-divisional projects, meeting decks, and documentation in support of the VP of Network Development as well as the Directors.
In collaboration with the management team, the project manager ensures timelines, risks, and milestones are managed for all strategic and operational planning/operations of the VP area.
The project manager works closely with Sales, Customer Services, Marketing, Product Management, and Dealer Partners to identify and prioritize opportunities and advise on resource allocation to capitalize on these opportunities. As the key point person for Network Development, the strategic project manager collaborates with the MBUSA President's office to manage Executive management-related tasks and coordinate content for ExCom meetings.
Responsibilities Manage and lead overall project/operational coordination of cross-functional, cross-divisional, and cross-oceanic projects involving colleagues from Mercedes-Benz AG (Germany), MBUSA, and MB Canada.Develop and maintain reports and presentations for VP Network Development & Special Projects.Create and maintain a governance structure by setting up regular communications/meetings and tracking mechanisms to ensure strategic and operational priorities are achieved.Coordinate and prepare all reports and presentations required by the VP for meetings and initiatives.Ensure that all agreed projects, presentations, reports, and analyses are accurate and delivered on-time.Contribute to the development of open and transparent communication between the Network Development management team and stakeholders.Manage the Network Development budget, reconcile and identify variances, and develop actions.Manage social & team-building related events for the Network Development & Special Projects division.Evaluate and track headcount and budget models that ensure compliance with corporate goals in support of strategic initiatives.Qualifications Experienced in project management of complex and cross-functional projects.Positive, engaging, and energetic nature with a demonstrated passion for leading projects.Ability to protect confidential information and distinguish between internal and external communication.Polished collaboration and communication skills with attention to detail.Independent thinker with strategic decision-making abilities.Ability to process significant amounts of information and prioritize effectively.Resiliency in working under time and management pressure.Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building competence.Experience in engaging with dealerships is preferred.Market knowledge and experience in the USA market preferred.Demonstrated organizational skills and comfort with working in a VUCA environment.Demonstrated English language skills and USA cultural knowledge; experience with the German language is a plus.Additional Information Position resides in Atlanta, GA, USA. Domestic (and occasionally International) travel requirements (Education Bachelors Degree - International Business, Marketing or Project Management. Masters Degree and certification in project management are a plus.
