Job Overview This position is responsible for successfully managing and overseeing the Mercedes-Benz USA litigation portfolio related to class action, breach of warranty, and consumer claims.
Responsibilities Manage outside counsel and a large docket of class action, breach of warranty, and consumer litigation claims.Provide legal guidance on marketing materials, technical documents, and other business documents.Develop proactive strategies to evaluate legal claims and create processes for the cost-effective and strategic resolution of litigation and pre-litigation claims.Supervise Paralegal(s) to support litigation-related work and respond to discovery requests.Coordinate discovery responses, prepare and identify appropriate witnesses, and appear on behalf of the company in legal matters.Provide guidance to MBUSA's internal business units to resolve customer claims and inform them of legal issues.Maintain familiarity with class action, antitrust, tort, warranty, consumer protection, advertising, and product liability laws.Effectively guide and lead interdisciplinary and/or international working groups and teams.Qualifications / Education Law Degree from an accredited law school.Bar certification (preferably in Georgia).7+ years of litigation experience in class action, product liability, warranty, and/or consumer litigation.Preferred experience with manufacturers, particularly in the automotive industry.Ability to manage a high volume of cases and provide reporting and insights.Effective and persuasive oral and written communication skills.Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.Additional Information Comprehensive knowledge of consumer, product liability, and advertising law.Ability to understand and communicate company policies and effectuate corporate litigation objectives.Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships.Excellent organizational and time management skills.Good understanding of litigation costs, budgeting processes, and expense controls.Willingness to learn about company products and business relationships.Strong attention to detail with multi-tasking skills.Willingness to travel for litigation activities.Ability to work in person on a hybrid or other schedule as determined by corporate policy.Ability to leverage technology and software to manage workflow efficiently.EEO Statement Mercedes-Benz USA is committed to fostering an inclusive environment that appreciates and leverages the diversity of our team.
