Job Description Assistant Accounting Manager The Finance Department of Fairmont Chateau Whistler is looking for a dynamic, organized and collaborative team player who is passionate about coaching and developing the general ledger accounting team.
Salary Range: $71,000 - $75,000, dependent on experience
Job Duties Include: Proficiency in full cycle general accounting process workflow including month end close and financial reporting, balance sheet reconciliation, Accounts Payable, General Cashiering, Banking/TreasurySupervise the daily general accounting operationProvide administrative support to Management with reference to policy enforcement, business advice and operational business supportResponsible for the company's general ledger transactions and bookkeepingPreparation of monthly journalAssist the finance leadership to prepare variance analysis, monthly profit and loss statement preparation and report on the business to senior finance leadershipVerify the accuracy of all Income Audit transactions, banking and ensure daily revenue and rebate summary is reconciledAssist in the integration of hotel and accounting technology systemsComplete and verify account analysis for all Food and Beverage inventories and expense valuationAssist in safe keeping of all lease and contracts and any other legal records and documents, which may affect the financial status of the hotelQualifications Degree in Business, Finance/Accounting, or a relevant field of work, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience2+ years progressive work-related experience in accounting, and previous hotel experience at a supervisory/managerial level an assetDemonstrated experience with accounting systems and Opera PMS an assetComputer literate in Microsoft Windows and Office requiredJob Perks & Benefits: Subsidized staff accommodation providedComplimentary meal in our staff cafeteria per shiftAccess to our Employee Travel Program, with discounts on room rates and food & beverage at Fairmont & Accor properties worldwideHotel leisure benefits including Golf/Ski passesAdditional Information Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
