Title and Summary Accountant Overview: Responsible for financial accounting, financial reporting and operating activities Activities at the junior levels include settlement accounting; accounts receivable; fixed assets; and at the senior levels preparing budgets and financial reports; conducting financial analyses; and making recommendations to senior management The Controller should have oversight and controls in place around the accounting and business processes and assure the accuracy and timely completion of all accounting transactions Role: Performs accounting activities (e.g., reconciliations, journal entries) in accordance with accounting principles and standards to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, laws and reporting requirements May assist with internal financial reporting, performs comprehensive trend analysis and data mining; assesses for completeness Executes and supports internal and external controls Makes suggestions for process improvements to supervisor Assists in supporting the business partner relationship, including performing any ad-hoc analysis and reporting All About You: Demonstrates knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting and delivers accurate and timely work Gains exposure to reviewing and analyzing own work for appropriate accounting treatment Experience performing process improvement activities Experience identifying and resolving basic issues in a timely manner Gains exposure to accounting control principles Experience building an internal network and relationships with business partners May produce and review internal and external reports (e.g., reports to Business Partners, Finance Leaders) Corporate Security Responsibility All activities involving access to Mastercard assets, information, and networks comes with an inherent risk to the organization and, therefore, it is expected that every person working for, or on behalf of, Mastercard is responsible for information security and must:
